SEATTLE β The indoor track & field season crowns its national champions this weekend as the NCAA Indoor Championships are headed for the first time to Virginia Beach. Washington looks to cap this first half of the 2025 track calendar with more history-making performances from 14 entries. The action at indoor nationals is packed into just two days, this Friday and Saturday, Mar. 14-15, at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
Β
The meet schedule divides up the women's and men's events into afternoon and evening sessions each day, to better follow the team title races. ESPN+ will live stream the action, with three separate links each day, one for the field events, one for women's track action, and one for men's track action.
Β
The men's team is looking for a third-straight top-10 finish at NCAA Indoors and heads into the meet ranked No. 5 in the TFRI. The women's team has had top-25 finishes each of the past two years, and looks to improve on its 17th-place finish from 2024. The women are ranked No. 9 going in.
Β
Team placing as always is based upon scores put up by the individuals and relays. Every individual event and relay awards points for the top-eight finishes, with 10 points for first, 8 for second, 6 for third, then 5-4-3-2-1 for places four through eight. The USTFCCCA All-America format also remains the same, with First Team status for top-eight finishers, and Second Team status for 9-16 finishers.
Β
Friday's action will start bright and early for those following from the West Coast. Jami Schlueter's first NCAA heptathlon competition starts at 6:15 a.m. Pacific time. The first field event for UW will be Amanda and Hana Moll in the pole vault, starting at 11 a.m. PT. Then the first track event of the day will be the women's mile semifinals with Chloe Foerster and Amina Maatoug at 12:30 p.m. PT. The day will progress with the women's DMR, Scott Toney in the men's pole vault, the men's mile and men's 800m semis, and the men's DMR to close things out at 5:50 p.m. PT.
Β
Day two again starts early with the fifth of the seven heptathlon events for Schlueter, the 60m hurdles, at 6:30 a.m. PT. The women's mile final opens up the track events at 12 noon PT, and UW's weekend will close with the men's 800m final at 3:30 p.m. PT.
Β
Hana Moll returns as the defending champion in the women's pole vault, seeded second this year behind Amanda, while Nathan Green and Ronan McMahon-Staggs will look to continue UW's incredible streak of five-straight NCAA titles at the mile or 1,500-meter distance.
