
Ramuno Throws Career-High 15 Strikeouts

HONOLULU – Washington softball opened the OUTRIGGER Invitational with a 4-1 victory over Jackson State on Wednesday afternoon.
The Huskies pick up their 10th win of the season and improve to 10-7 overall.
Sophia Ramuno (4-2) got the start and threw her second complete game of the season. She struck out a career-high 15 in the outing – beating her previous high of 11 that came against UC San Diego on May 10, 2024. Ramuno is the first Husky since Kelley Lynch in 2022 to throw 15 strikeouts in a game.
After three hits to lead off the game, Ramuno and the Husky defense retired 21 of the final 22 batters.
Jackson State got on the board first with a leadoff home run.
Jadyn Glab followed with her team-leading seventh home run of the season in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game at one.
With two outs and one on in the second, Jade Bubke smashed her first career home run to give Washington the lead at 3-1.
Alexis DeBoer brought in the fourth run on a sacrifice fly to score Glab in the fifth.
Ramuno struck out the final three batters to secure the 4-1 victory.
