
Casen Taggart Hits Third Home Run Of The Season In Loss To Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. β Casen Taggart hit a team-leading third home run on Monday, but it wasn't enough as the Huskies fell to Stanford 3-7 in the series finale.
Washington moves to 2-6 on the season while Stanford stays undefeated at 8-0.
Bradley Gilbert earned his second start of the season, pitching 1.2 innings and giving up four runs, two of which were earned. Gilbert is credited with the loss on Monday and moves to 0-1.
Sawyer Parkin pitched in relief of Gilbert, tossing two 2.1 innings and allowing one run on two hits.
Colton Bower provided Washington's first run of the game, hitting a double to left field to drive in AJ Guerrero in the eighth inning. Bower is currently on a two-game hitting streak and is also riding a five-game streak of reaching base.
Since making his season debut on Friday, Guerrero has hit safely in each game and owns a four-game hitting streak.
Casen Taggart drove in two of Washington's three runs with his home run and went 3-4 at the plate with two doubles as well. It's Taggart's second multi-hit game of the season and the first three-hit game of the season for the Huskies.
Peysen Sweeney took over for Parkin in the fifth inning and threw two scoreless frames, striking out two batters while allowing only one hit.Β
Micah Bujacich finished off the game, throwing the seventh and eighth innings. He fanned one batter while allowing two runs.
Washington will play San Francisco on Wednesday afternoon before traveling to Las Vegas on Wednesday night for this weekend's Las Vegas College Baseball Classic.
