SEATTLE β The No. 26 Washington women's tennis team (5-1) will make a quick weekend trip down to San Diego for two back-to-back matches.
The Huskies will first take on San Diego State on Saturday, Feb. 22 at noon before facing No. 29 San Diego 24 hours later.
Washington is ranked 26th in the most recent ITA team rankings (Feb. 20). Reece Carter and Alexia Jacobs are ranked No. 60 as a doubles pair.
LAST TIME OUT
The Dawgs are riding a four-match winning streak, most recently besting both Washington State and Arizona State at home.
Second (Erika Matsuda/Sophie Luescher) and third (Catherine Gagnon/McKenna Koenig) doubles each went 2-0 on the weekend to clinch the doubles point each time for the Huskies.
Luescher went 4-0 on the weekend, including clinching the sweep over the Sun Devils with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 three-setter on court five.
SCOUTING REPORT β SAN DIEGO STATE
San Diego State is 4-3 to start the season, most recently coming off a 4-2 loss at Long Beach State on Feb. 16.
The Dawgs swept the Aztecs last season 4-0 in Seattle.
SCOUTING REPORT β NO. 29 SAN DIEGO
San Diego is 4-5 to start the season and will host Hawaii on Friday, Feb. 21 before taking on the Dawgs on Sunday. Four of the Toreros' five losses have come at the hands of ranked opponents.
The Dawgs defeated San Diego 4-3 last season at home.
