Suliafu Named United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo. βΒ Washington senior defender Kolo Suliafu has been named a First Team Scholar All-American by the United Soccer Coaches, announced on Thursday.

Suliafu becomes the eighth Washington player to earn Scholar All-America honors from the coaches' organization, the first since Jaclyn Softli in 2014. Suliafu is the second Husky to earn first team laurels, joining Theresa Wagner in 2000.

The 5-5 defender will graduate from the University of Washington with a degree in Education Studies. A mainstay on the conference all-academic honor roll, Suliafu has also garnered scholar all-region and academic all-district accolades each fo the last two seasons.

The 2025 Big Ten Defender of the Year, Suliafu also joined the short list of six Huskies all-time to receive All-America recognition from the United Soccer Coaches. Earlier in the week, the Ontario, California, native signed a professional contract with the NWSL's Kansas City Current.

With Suliafu at the spine of the UW defense, the Huskies set the program record this season with 12 clean sheets, while UW matched the program record for goals conceded in 2024, allowing a meager 12 all season.

Suliafu finished her heralded Husky career as one of the program's all-time greats on the back line, contributing to 33 clean sheets, 31 as a member of the starting XI, during her four seasons in Purple and Gold.
