Aman Stuns Oregon State In Double OT, Huskies Win Five-Goal Thriller
November 20, 2025 | Men's Soccer
CORVALLIS, Ore. β The Huskies came back from a goal down twice and ultimately found the game-winning goal in the second overtime period to prevail 3-2 over No. 10 Oregon State on Friday.
Β
With the win, the Huskies advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and will face SMU in Dallas on Sunday. Washington improves to 11-6-2 on the year.
Β
Oregon State took the lead early in the match, jumping in front in the fourth minute.
Β
The Huskies were consistently the more attacking team, tallying 11 shots to the Beavers six in the first period. The second half was more of the same, with Washington firing off 10 shots to Oregon State's five.
Β
The pressure from the Dawgs eventually paid off with an equalizer coming from Harrison Bertos in the 57th minute. He hammered home an emphatic header off the corner kick delivery from Zach Ramsey to knot the game at one.
Β
20 minutes later, Washington was called for a handball and the Beavers converted the penalty kick to regain the lead.
Β
With 15 minutes to play, the Huskies stayed on the front foot and again were rewarded. With five minutes left in regulation, Connor Lofy connected on a header to tie the match for a second time. It was his third goal of the season.
Β
After a full 90 minutes, the Huskies and Beavers were locked at 2-2, sending the game into golden goal overtime. In the first 10 minutes, the score remained unchanged.
Β
Three minutes and 27 seconds into the second overtime period, the Huskies found the winner.
Β
Richie Aman controlled the ball on the left flank and battled past a Beaver defender toward the goal line. He cut toward the goal and into the box and chipped the ball from a nearly impossible angle, sending the ball up and over the keeper and into the far corner of the goal.
Β
It was Aman's second goal against the Beavers after scoring in Corvallis earlier this season. He now has four goals on the year and 19 total points.
Washington's last overtime victory came in a 3-2 OT win over Indiana in the third round of the NCAA Tournament during the Huskies' 2021 run to the College Cup.
Β
Washington now shifts focus to SMU in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday. The match is slated for 4 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
