September 26, 2026 | Men's Soccer
SEATTLE – Washington used a high-powered offense again on Friday night, taking down No. 22 Rutgers 4-1 at Husky Soccer Stadium.
The Huskies improve to 6-3-1 and 3-1 in Big Ten play with the victory.
Washington has been one of the top scoring teams in the NCAA this season, totaling 30 goals through 10 games. In each of Washington's wins, the team has bagged four goals.
Zach Ramsey began the fireworks on Friday night, picking up right where he left off against Ohio State. The nation's leading scorer thumped a volley on a long throw from Asher Hestad, rocketing the ball into the Rutgers net with his left boot in the 25th minute.
Five minutes later, Cameron Cruz drew a penalty and the Huskies' prolific scorer stepped up to the spot. He calmly slotted the ball home to give the Dawgs a 2-0 advantage.
Ramsey recorded his fifth game with at least two goals, bringing his season tally up to 14. It's the most Husky goals in a single season in 20 years, the most since Kevin Forrest bagged 16 in 2006.
Washington took the lead into the break and held onto the two-goal advantage until the 68th minute when Rutgers pulled one back.
With momentum shifting, the Huskies pushed on, looking to close out the game with another goal. Then, in the 78th minute, Washington got the third strike.
Alex Hall served in a corner kick perfectly to the near corner. A towering header from Osato Enabulele thumped the ball into the net, restoring the two-goal lead.Â
Enabulele now has three goals on the season and Hall recorded his fifth assist of the year on the play.
Alex Hall would get in on the fun again the 88th minute, putting the game to bed with the fourth goal of the night. Hall controlled a pass from Ramsey before firing in a bottom corner shot for his third goal of the season.
Stockton Short was crucial in goal for the Huskies. The keeper made six saves against just one goal allowed while facing 12 shots from Rutgers.Â
Short, along with Harrison Bertos, Egor Akulov, Asher Hestad, Kevin Hernandez, and Zack Meier played the full 90 minutes. Zach Ramsey and Wyatt Lewis both chipped in 88 minutes of action. Clarens Dollin saw his first minutes of the season, featuring for the final two minutes of the game.
The Huskies return to action next Friday, October 2, against Wisconsin at 7 p.m. at Husky Soccer Stadium.
