
Five Goal Outpouring Earns Washington Sixth Straight Victory

SEATTLE β The Dawgs absolutely dominated the Buckeyes 5-0 on Friday night to claim their sixth win in a row. Charlie Kosakoff contributed a brace while Alex Hall chipped in a goal and assist to lead Washington to the big win.
The Huskies improve to 10-3-2 on the season and 7-1 in conference play to stay atop the Big Ten standings.
With the win, Washington has now scored at least five goals in a game three times this season. The Huskies also improve to 9-0 when scoring first and 8-0 when scoring in the first half.Β
The action began in the 22nd minute when Alex Hall fired the Huskies in front. He controlled a ball from Asher Hestad to secure the opening goal, snaking a shot between multiple defenders before finding the back of the net.
In the 33rd minute, Charlie Kosakoff doubled the lead with an astonishing scissor kick goal. With one knee of the ground, Washington's No. 9 sliced at the ball and struck it perfectly to give the Huskies a 2-0 advantage.
The Huskies took the lead into the halftime break, and it stayed the same until the final 11 minutes of action.Β
In the 79th minute, Zach Ramsey took control of the ball in the Husky half and raced all the way to the Ohio State box. The sophomore laid it off perfectly for a streaking Kosakoff, who slotted it home to earn his brace.
The Huskies wasted no time in pouncing for two more strikes.Β
Conner Leber scored his second career Husky goal off a weighted ball from Connor Lofy. Then Clarens Dollin put an exclamation point on the match, firing in his second career goal off assists from Ramsey and Chad Sovde.
The Huskies took care of business on both sides of the ball, shutting out the Buckeyes to earn their fifth clean sheet in the last six games. Jadon Bowton earned his seventh win and his fourth shutout of the season. He made a season-high seven saves while facing 15 shots.
Washington will look to bring the momentum to Maryland next week, where the Huskies can clinch the Big Ten title with a win. The Huskies face off against the Terrapins on October 31 at 4 p.m. PT.
