Husky Football Announces Auction Plans for Limited Edition Gameday Shoes
September 19, 2024 | Football, General
SEATTLE, WA — In collaboration with adidas, Washington football has introduced a limited edition series of custom-decorated lifestyle shoes (through an assortment of licensed silhouettes) for the 2024 season.
Each pair, handcrafted by Husky football alum and artist Sean Vergara, commemorates both home and away matchups, adding a unique touch to gameday while showcasing the program's commitment to an ongoing and creative partnership with adidas.
Shoe designs are tailored to specifically reflect key aspects of Washington's 2024 season - including opponents, game themes, team mantras, promotional elements, and more. Vergara worked closely with UW staff to create designs that reflect the energy of each matchup.
The project is even more distinctive because of its exclusivity.
Only two pairs of shoes have been created for each game on Washington's schedule.
One pair belongs to and is worn by Head Coach Jedd Fisch during Washington's "Dawg Walk" experience at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium - and also during the stadium arrival moment when the Huskies are on the road.
Each of the other pairs has been set aside and will be available for purchase through auction on GoHuskies.com during select moments of the 2024 season and beyond.
Additionally, fans with winning bids will also have the opportunity to pick up their shoes in person (those who are able). Coach Fisch will be in attendance to personally sign each pair. Shoes that cannot be picked up in person will also receive an autograph from Coach Fisch.
All proceeds from the sale of each pair of shoes will support the Go BIG! for Washington campaign, a $300-million fundraising initiative aimed at advancing the Huskies as new members of the Big Ten Conference. The fund will cover scholarships, facilities, and student-athlete resources.
Husky Nation already has donated more than $50 million to the Go B1G! Fund, including Washington Football Head Coach Jedd Fisch and his wife, Amber. The couple kicked off the fundraising effort with an inaugural $1 million gift.
Go BIG! for Washington helps fund all 22 UW teams and more than 650 student-athletes. Campaign support ensures that the focus remains on student-athletes with enhanced nutrition, academic services, and mental and physical health support — all essential for fueling their big dreams in the Big Ten.
