Sprinkle Fills Out Staff
July 03, 2024 | Men's Basketball
SEATTLE – Washington head men's basketball coach Danny Sprinkle rounded out his staff for the 2024-25 season.
Tommy Connor will serve as an assistant coach after previously serving as an assistant on Utah's bench for 14 seasons over two separate stints.
"Tommy is one of the best basketball minds and teachers in the country," said Sprinkle. "He has tons of experience and has worked with some of the elite basketball minds in Rick Majerus and Larry Krystkowiak. He has been a successful head coach and will be a great addition to our staff and help us in all areas of our program."
Connor helped Utah to five NCAA Tournament runs, including two Sweet 16 appearances and an Elite Eight appearance. He also played in the Big Dance as a guard for the Utes and later spent 12 seasons as the head coach at Westminster College (NAIA).
Washington alum Abdul Gaddy (UW '13) joins the Huskies' coaching staff as director of player development.
Gaddy, who this year finished his fourth season playing for the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA G League, returns to his home state to embark on his coaching career. The former Husky captain finished his collegiate career second on UW's all-time assist list with 469.
"Abdul is a great addition to our program," Sprinkle said. "As a former Dawg, his pride in the program is evident. His knowledge of UW and experience playing at the highest level professionally will help all of our players. He is a high-character person who everyone at UW and in the Seattle/Tacoma area respects immensely."
Sprinkle also announced several additions to the team's support staff. Assistant Athletics Director – Athletic Training Services Daren Nystrom will serve as the team's head athletic trainer. Mark Mitchell joins the Huskies as director of athletic development and performance.
Jenna Moser returns to the staff as director of men's basketball operations, a title the UW alum held during the 2023-24 season.
Peyton Mortellite assumes the role of video & analytics coordinator after previously serving as a graduate assistant last season. Xavier Bishop, a former Montana State basketball player under Sprinkle, will serve as a graduate assistant.
Connor and Gaddy join Tony Bland, Andy Hill, Jerry Hobbie and DeMarlo Slocum, who were previously announced on Sprinkle's coaching staff in May.
