July 01, 2024 | Men's Basketball
2023-24 Pac-12 scoring champ Keion Brooks Jr. was signed by the New Orleans Pelicans following the 2024 NBA Draft.
Brooks was an All-Pac-12 First Team selection in his second year at Washington. He averaged 21.3 points per game, which led the league and ranked among the top-20 in Division I. He scored 20 points in a league-best 23 games last season, which is the most by a Husky in a single season. Brooks was one of two Division I players averaging 21.0 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game while shooting 49% overall (Zach Edey). The fifth year forward shot 37 percent from three-point range, a jump from his previous best of 28 percent last year.
Brooks was a top-40 candidate for the USBWA Oscar Robertson Trophy and All-America Watch List and also one of five finalists for the 2024 Julius Erving Award. He finished his career with 1205 points in two seasons on Montlake and his 674 points in his final season rank 6th on the UW single season list.
The Fort Wayne, Ind. product graduated with a degree in communications from the University of Washington this spring.
Brooks will be in the same building as fellow former Husky, Dejounte Murray, who was recently traded to the Pelicans.
Moses Wood also signed with the Atlanta Hawks for NBA Summer League.
