Lopez, Meylan Shutout Seattle U

SEATTLE – No. 10 Washington defeated Seattle U 3-0 on Wednesday night at Logan Field. The Huskies improved to 34-10 on the season.
Lindsay Lopez got the start for the Huskies, taking a no-hitter to two outs in the fifth on the way to her 10th win of the season. Lopez tossed five scoreless innings with five strikeouts and only two runners allowed. Ruby Meylan came in during the sixth and retired the final six batters for her sixth save.
Washington brought across the first run of the contest in the first starting with a Madison Huskey one-out single. She was brought in on Jadelyn Allchin's second triple in as many games for the 1-0 advantage.
Brooke Nelson drew a leadoff walk in the sixth and Brooklyn Carter came in to pinch run. Carter stole second and advanced to third on a sac bunt. She came in to score on a wild pitch as Kelley Lynch was walked.
With bases loaded, Nelson hit a sac fly to right to score Huskey from third for a three-run lead.
The Huskies will return to Husky Softball Stadium for one final regular season home game against Utah Valley on Sunday, April 23. First pitch is set for 11 a.m. and airing on Pac-12 Washington.
