Huskies Conclude Home Schedule With 9-1 Win

SEATTLE – No. 10 Washington (35-10) closed out its regular season home slate with a 9-1 five inning win over Utah Valley on Sunday afternoon.
Kelley Lynch got the start for the Huskies and picked up her eighth win of the season after tossing four innings with one run allowed. Lynch struck out seven Wolverines. Ruby Meylan came in and threw a scoreless inning with three strikeouts.
With one out in the first, Madison Huskey and Sami Reynolds reached on singles and was brought in on Jadelyn Allchin's third double of the season. SilentRain Espinoza followed with a single to bring in Allchin for a 3-0 lead.
The Huskies tacked on an insurance run in the second on a Baylee Klingler single, scoring Kinsey Fiedler from second.
Utah Valley answered back with a run in the third.
Washington added a pair of runs in the bottom half of the third on a Espinoza single and Lynch sacrifice fly. Allchin hit her second RBI double of the day to plate a pair of runs for the fourth for the 8-1 lead.
Lynch hit the game-winning solo home run in the fifth, her second homer of the year.
Allchin had her third straight game with multiple hits after going 3-for-3, four RBI and two runs scored.
The Huskies hit the road for the final conference series, traveling to Stanford for a three-game set beginning on Friday. The first two games of the series will be broadcasted on ESPNU and ESPN2, respectively, and the series finale on Pac-12 Bay Area.
