Washington's Season Ends with 74-68 Loss to Colorado in Las Vegas
March 08, 2023 | Men's Basketball
LAS VEGAS (AP) – Down by eight at halftime, Washington fought back but could not secure a victory in the opening game of the Pac-12 Tournament as Colorado advanced by a score of 74-68.
"There's no one more disappointed than me," Head Coach Mike Hopkins said following the game. "I'm really disappointed for our fans, our alumni, our ex-players, the community of Seattle. It's not our standard."
Cole Bajema was fouled on a three-pointer with less than two minutes remaining in the game and made all three free throws to make the score 66-64. The senior made a tough basket through contact on the next possession to knot the score at 66-66.
The Huskies started the second half with two three-pointers in the opening minute and took their first lead with 9:48 left.

Bajema and Keion Brooks Jr. each scored 16 points for Washington. Koren Johnson added 15 points to tie a career best. In his program-record 150th career game, Jamal Bey finished with nine points and a team-high seven rebounds.
The Huskies shot 56.7 percent in the second half, making five three-pointers.
It was just the second meeting between UW and CU in the Pac-12 Tournament with the all-time postseason series now even.
