SEATTLE β The University of Washington baseball team has released its schedule for the 2024 season, announced by head coach Jason Kelly in his second season at the helm of the Husky program.
Β
The Huskies are scheduled to play 21 games in front of their home crowd as Husky Ballpark, while hitting the road for 27 games in 2024.
Β
Featured in the schedule are eight teams that earned a bid to the 2023 NCAA baseball tournament in Arizona, Maryland Oregon, Oregon State, Santa Clara, Stanford and Texas, three of which advanced to Super Regionals.
Β
Washington will begin the 2024 season with back-to-back road weekends, opening the campaign with a three-game series at Long Beach State. UW closes out February at the Whataburger Classic, hosted by Texas A&M Corpus Christi, with the host Islanders also welcoming Maryland and Pitt.
Β
The Dawgs kickoff their home slate with a rematch of last season's matchup with Santa Clara, taking on the Broncos March 1-3. Starting its last conference schedule as a member of the Pac-12, Washington will open league play at home against Stanford the following weekend.
Β
The Huskies will then hit the road once again for their final non-conference road series of the season, battling perennial power Texas in a marquee matchup in Austin March 15-17. UW stays on the road the following weekend, facing Oregon State in Corvallis.
Β
The Boeing Apple Cup Series meeting with Washington State will take place March 28-30 at Husky Ballpark, with the Dawgs hosting another in-state matchup the following Wednesday to open April, squaring up with Seattle U in the first of three midweek meetings for the two schools.
Β
Looking to repeat last season's sweep, UW heads to Los Angeles to face USC April 5-7, returning home for a five-game homestand, beginning with a rematch with Seattle U on April 9. The Huskies then host UCLA on the weekend before welcoming Portland to Husky Ballpark on April 16.
Β
Next, the Dawgs make way for Salt Lake City April 19-21, taking on Utah at altitude, before returning home to take a quick jot across Lake Washington, facing Seattle U in Bellevue the following Tuesday.
Β
The Huskies will take on a trio of Arizona schools over the course of seven consecutive games, beginning at home against the Arizona Wildcats April 26-28. The final stretch of the regular season kicks off in May in Tempe, battling Arizona State May 3-5. UW will stay in the desert and make a quick trip to Phoenix to face Grand Canyon on Tuesday.
Β
Washington will host its final home series May 10-12, taking on rival Oregon at Husky Ballpark before finishing the season with four-straight road games. A trip to Portland to face the Pilots will be the final midweek of the season on May 14, then heading to the Bay Area on the weekend for a three-game set with Cal to close out the regular season.
