SEATTLE (AP) -- Keion Brooks Jr. tallied his second consecutive double-double but Washington fell to Nevada 83-76 on Sunday night at Alaska Airlines Arena.
"To be able to win these games we're going to have to execute," said Head Coach Mike Hopkins. "We have a chance to make it right on Friday."
After Sahvir Wheeler made the first of two free throws to cut Washington's deficit to four points with 8:41 left in the first half, the Wolf Pack built the lead back up.
Washington (2-1) pulled within seven points of the Wolf Pack on four occasions in the second half but got no closer.
Brooks Jr. threw down a monster dunk early in the first half.
The Huskies shot 48 percent, including 51 percent in the second half. They held Nevada to 2 of 14 shooting from three-point range over 40 minutes.
Wheeler finished with 14 points and five assists and Nate Calmese scored 11.
Washington plays Xavier on Friday at the Continental Tire Main Event in Las Vegas. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. The Huskies will play either San Diego State or Saint Mary's to end the tournament on Sunday.
