
Huskies Fall 2-1 To Cal

SEATTLE – Washington dropped a 2-1 decision against California on Thursday night at Husky Soccer Stadium. The Huskies drop to 5-5-4 on the season and 2-3-1 in conference action.
California got on the board early in the 10th minute off a corner kick. The Golden Bears added another in the 33rd off a corner to take 2-0 lead heading into the half.
A long throw in by Kalani Kossa-Rienzi into the box found the head of Nate Jones who found Imanol Rosales for the tight shot that got by the Cal goalie to cut the lead to one. The goal was the first for Rosales this season and the eighth of his career.
The 2,537 in attendance tonight is the 11th highest recorded number in program history.
Up next, the Huskies conclude the home slate against No. 14 Stanford on Sunday afternoon. Washington will honor 13 seniors in a pregame ceremony Sam Fowler, Nate Jones, Jack Maguire, Kalani Kossa-Rienzi, Chris Meyers, Peter Kingston, Imanol Rosales, Keegan Yorke, Christian Soto, Woody Manum, Khai Brisco, Bryan Iliohan and Gabe Threadgold. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at Husky Soccer Stadium and airing on Pac-12 Network.
