
Washington Hosts Cal For DP Night

SEATTLE β The Huskies begin its final homestand of the regular season hosting California on Thursday night at Husky Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and airing on Pac-12 Network.

LAST TIME OUT
Washington traveled to Spokane for its final non-conference matchup of the season that ended in a one-all draw against Gonzaga on Saturday night. Nick O'Brien scored the goal for the Huskies, his second of the season. Washington is 5-4-4 overall on the season and 2-2-1 in Pac-12 play.

DP NIGHT
With October being Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Awareness Month, the Washington men's soccer team has partnered with the DP Foundation to raise awareness for sudden cardiac awareness. In December 2015, UW soccer alum Daniel Phelps passed away at the age of 27 after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest in his sleep. Daniel played forward and wore #19 at UW. He was a natural leader and motivator. His work ethic, charisma, humor and general outlook on life made him the kind of person everyone wanted to be around. He was known as the social connector by his closest friends, and his memory lives on through the DP Foundation.

PAC-12 RECORD WATCH
Sam Fowler has a chance to become the Pac-12's all-time leader in both career shutouts and GAA (Goals Against Average). He enters his senior campaign third on the Conference's clean sheets list (28, two behind Spencer Richey's Pac-12 record 30.

HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
Since 1997, the Huskies have posted a 181-65-20 overall record at Husky Soccer Stadium, winning at least eight matches in 13 seasons including a 10-1-2 mark in 2013. Last season, the Huskies set a new program record for single-match attendance when 3,876 people came to see Washington take on Seattle U in the Fewing Cup.

The Huskies have seen 12 different goal scorers this season accounting for 18 goals. Six Huskies - Mani Diop, Harrison Bertos, Charlie Kosakoff, Nick O'Brien, Sean Sent and Jack Maguire have all scored their first career goals this season.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS
California sits at 5-4-3 overall with a 1-2-1 record in Pac-12 action. Evan Davila leads the team in goals (4), points (9) and shots on goal (6) while Nonso Adimabua leads in assists (3) and shots (24). The Golden Bears have uses three goalkeepers this season with Connor Lambe seeing a majority of the minutes. The goalkeeping group holds a 1.08 GAA with 43 saves and four shutouts.

Washington leads the all-time series with California, 39-20-10. The Huskies are on a six-match winning streak over the Golden Bears dating back to the 2020-21 season. Washington is 19-8-5 at home against Cal. Earlier this season, the Huskies won the matchup at Cal, 1-0, with Mani Diop scoring the lone goal.

The Huskies will honor its 13 seniors on Sunday with the final home matchup of the regular season against Stanford. The seniors being honored in a pre-match ceremony are Sam Fowler, Nate Jones, Jack Maguire, Kalani Kossa-Rienzi, Chris Meyers, Peter Kingston, Imanol Rosales, Keegan Yorke, Christian Soto, Woody Manum, Khai Brisco, Bryan Iliohan and Gabe Threadgold.
