Juarez Named to TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week

LONG BEACH, Calif. – A day after earning the first Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week nod of her career, UW shot stopper Olivia Juarez has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week, announced Tuesday.
The accolade comes just over a year since the last time the Dawgs landed a player on the team of the week, when Shae Holmes was honored for Week 8 of the 2022 season.
Putting together one of the marquee performances of her career, the Portland native was integral in the Huskies' 1-1 draw at No. 2 Stanford, snapping a 19-match losing streak to the Cardinal and giving UW its first point against Stanford since 2004.
Juarez made 12 saves on the night, good for not only a career-high but tying the junior for the seventh most saves made in a single match in program-history.
In addition to her shot stopping during the affair, Juarez also organized her defense expertly as the Huskies fended off 31 shots, 13 more than any other match in 2023.
