SEATTLE - The Huskies were a confident bunch as they hit the field today, fresh off a pair of victories over division rival Washington State in the Boeing Apple Cup Series. Following a throwing error and a wild pitch, lead off batter Cole Miller was soon standing on second base. Josh Urpsย did his job next with a sacrifice bunt that moved Miller along toย third. Two batters later, Johnny Tincherย drove a single to center field scoring Miller for the first run of the game. Next up, Will Simpson reached on a fielding error by the shortstop and a walk to Coby Morales loaded up the bases. AJ Guerrero stepped to the plate next and drove a hit through the left side of the field scoring both Simpson and Tincher. The throw from left came in to the catcher enticing Guerreroย to take second, however he was unable to beat the throw back up the middle and was called out to end the inning with the Huskies up 3-0.
