Four Huskies Earn All-Pac-12 Honors

SEATTLE โ Seniors Marin Grote, Claire Hoffman, and Ella May Powell have all been tabbed as All-Pac-12 Team members once again, with sophomore Emoni Bush earning honorable mention for the first time. The conference honors were announced today based on voting by the Pac-12 head coaches.

Powell becomes the second Husky ever to be a four-time All-Pac-12 Team honoree, joining Christal Morrison, however Morrison remains the only player to do it in only four years. Powell was an All-Freshman Team member in her first year, then made the top All-Pac-12 Team each of the next four seasons.

Hoffman is now a three-time All-Pac-12 Team performer, while Grote is on the team for the second year in a row.

The three seniors have all ascended high into the Husky recordbooks this season while remaining near the top of the Pac-12 rankings, helping lead Washington to a 21st consecutive NCAA Championship bid.

Powell is third in Pac-12 history with 6,177 career assists, sixth at UW in career digs with 1,362, and she is the UW career aces leader with 161. She is averaging 10.79 assists per set this season while also posting a career-high 0.74 kills per set on a career-best .393 attack percentage. Powell has helped the Huskies to a .288 attack percentage for the season, third in the Pac-12.

Hoffman is the Huskies' leading attacker once again, averaging a career-best 4.29 kills per set this season to rank fourth in the Pac-12. She is also fourth with 0.40 aces per set, and is third on the team with 2.06 digs per set. Hoffman is the sixth Husky to surpass 1,500 career kills, ranking sixth in school history with 1,558, and she is fourth all-time in aces with 149. Hoffman has led or shared the lead in kills for the Dawgs in 24 of the 30 matches this season.

Grote has put together a dominant offensive season out of the middle, as she is one of four Pac-12 players hitting over .400, while her 2.55 kills per set rate is the highest among those four. Grote is second in Pac-12 play with a .413 attack percentage, while averaging a full kill per set more than the leader. She is up to 707 career kills and 337 career blocks, and her career .379 attack percentage ranks fourth in school history.

Emoni Bush, named honorable mention, is second on the Huskies with 3.10 kills per set, hitting .245 for the season, both career-highs. She has also been an effective server with 0.25 aces per set. The sophomore from Campbell River, Canada has led the Huskies in kills four times this season, despite missing three weeks of Pac-12 play with an ankle injury.

Washington has had at least three women named to the All-Pac-12 Team for three consecutive seasons now, and it's the fourth time in Keegan Cook's eight years, as three Huskies also made the team in 2016. Pac-12 Champion Stanford led all teams with five All-Pac-12 players this year, followed by UW and Oregon with three each.
