UW Recruiting Class Ranked No. 24 by Baseball America
September 08, 2021 | Baseball
SEATTLE -- Very soon, an extremely deep and talented group of newcomers will step foot on campus at the University of Washington. And on Wednesday, Baseball America named this group the 24th-best recruiting class in the country.
The Huskies' class of incoming freshmen is led by a pair of local products in Max Debiec (West Seattle, Wash.) and AJ Guerrero (Fife, Wash.). Debiec, a right-handed pitcher, is ranked as the No. 161 overall recruit in the country by Baseball America. An infielder/outfielder, Guerrero is the 475th-ranked recruit nationally and has displayed elite offensive potential.
UW once again had a very successful cycle recruiting the junior college ranks and was able to greatly bolster its pitching staff this time around. Bryce Armstrong (Corning, Calif.) is a big-time lefty who put up stellar numbers at Butte College last season. Jared Engman (Kent, Wash.) brings a big arm and physical presence to Montlake. He is a local prospect out of Kent, played at Tacoma Community College and played summer ball out in Wenatchee with the AppleSox this year.
Stay tuned for more news on the Husky newcomers as they are set to arrive on campus in the coming weeks.
