Sekany Earns Pac-12 Keeper Of The Week

SAN FRANCISCO - After helping the Huskies keep their undefeated 2021 season rolling, Olivia Sekany has been named the Keeper of the Week by the Pac-12 Conference. This is the first such honor of Sekany's career.
Sekany allowed just one goal across two games last week, leading the Huskies to a shutout 3-0 win at Arizona and a 1-1 tie at Arizona State. Sekany made eight saves against Arizona State, the most by a Husky keeper since 2018. She has allowed just two goals all year long, helping the Huskies to their stingiest defensive start in school history: the two goals allowed through six games tie the school record.
This is the third year in a row that the Huskies have had a player earn Keeper of the Week. Sekany is the seventh keeper in Washington history to earn a weekly award from the Pac-12. She joins Siena Ruelas, Sarah Shimer, Megan Kufeld, Jordi LaFontaine-Kussmann, Kelsey Rasmussen, and Hope Solo in that regard.
With two shutout streaks of 150+ minutes already this year, Sekany will enter this weekend with 84 straight scoreless minutes. She has allowed just one goal in 370 minutes of play at Husky Soccer Stadium this season.
This week, Washington will host Stanford on Friday and Cal on Sunday in a two-game Pac-12 weekend. The Stanford game will be streamed live on the Washington live stream, while the Cal game will be aired on the Pac-12 Network.
