Late Comeback Gives Huskies 2-1 Win

SEATTLE – The #22 Washington Huskies played another heart-pumping game, winning 2-1 over the #24 Cal Bears on Sunday. Washington trailed at the half but fought back with two second-half goals, with the gamewinner from Sianna Siemonsma coming in the 83rd minute.
Washington moves to 5-1-2 on the season and 2-1-2 in Pac-12 play with the win. The Huskies still have not allowed multiple goals in a game this season. Washington has outshot the opposition in seven of its eight games this year after outshooting Cal 15-10 today.
Summer Yates had two assists in the game, her second multi-point game of the season. Ameera Hussen had the other Husky goal, a beautiful curler in the 66th minute.
The Huskies trailed 1-0 at the half but took over in the second 45. Washington allowed only three shots in the second half and none on goal in that time, outshooting Cal 7-3. All three of those shots by Cal came by the 60th minute: Washington did not allow a single shot in the final 30 minutes, scoring both its goals in that time for the win.
