
Incoming Husky Jackson Grant Named McDonald’s All-American

SEATTLE – Incoming men's basketball standout Jackson Grant has been named a 2021 McDonald's All-American, the organization announced Tuesday. The 6-10 forward out of Olympia, Washington becomes the ninth Husky to be nationally recognized as a McDonald's All-American.
The 6-10 forward is considered the No. 3 player in the state of Washington and No. 39 nationally (by ESPN). He competed at Olympia High School and averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds as a junior to help lead the Bears to a fourth-place finish in the WIAA Class 4A Tournament. He was named The Tacoma News Tribune and The Olympian's 2020 All-Area Player of the Year following that state tournament run which was the Bears' best since 2011.
On the AAU circuit, Grant plays for Washington Supreme and has seen time with the USA Basketball family. He took part in the 2019 USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team October camp and the 2019 USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team July minicamp.
Previous Huskies to don the purple and gold after being named McDonalds All-Americans were Jaden McDaniels (2019), Isaiah Stewart (2019), Markelle Fultz (2016), Nigel Williams-Goss (2013), Abdul Gaddy (2009), Spencer Hawes (2006) and Jon Brockman (2005). Additionally, current Dawg Quade Green was named a McDonald's All-American in 2017 before transferring to UW.
