
UW Baseball Places Five On Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll

Five Washington Baseball players were named to the 2020 Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll. Pitcher Leo Nierenberg earned academic recognition from the Conference for the third time, pitcher Stevie Emanuels, infielder Noah Hsue and pitcher Jonathan Schiffer are two-time honorees and catcher Michael Petrie was recognized for the first time.
Any student-athlete on his respective team roster with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above, and who has served at least one year in residence at the institution, is eligible to receive all-academic honors. There is no longer a selection process to determine all-academic teams for each sport.
Nierenberg was a First Team All-Pac-12 Academic selection in both 2018 and 2019. The senior from Oakland, Calif., maintains a 3.60 GPA and will earn his degree in Visual Arts this month.
Hsue was a recently named to the CoSIDA District 8 Academic All-America Team and was a Second Team All-Pac-12 Academic selection in 2018. The redshirt-sophomore from Mercer Island, Wash., boasts a 3.68 GPA while focusing on Finance in the Foster School of Business.
Schiffer and Emanuels were both Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 Academic selections in 2018. Schiffer, a junior from Irvine, Calif., is a Business major focusing on Marketing, while Emanuels, from Bellevue, Wash., is a Communications major.
Petrie, from Mercer Island, Wash., is a Communications major.
