March 04, 2020 | Gymnastics
CORVALLIS, Ore. -Β Washington heads back on the road this weekend to take on two top-15 teams in Oregon State and Denver University. The GymDawgs will face OSU on Friday night before they take on Denver, San Jose State, and Alaska in a quad meet at Denver on Sunday.
The GymDawgs are coming off their best meet of the season, reaching the second-best team score in program history with a 197.600 and a program record beam score with a 49.650. The historic night wasn't enough to get the win, however, as Utah earned the victory by a slim margin with a score of 197.675.
Washington reached a new season-high in the NCAA rankings, landing at #12. The GymDawgs also moved up to #9 in the beam rankings, following the record-setting event rotation. Against Utah, all five scoring gymnasts earned a 9.900 or higher.
Evanni Roberson earned her second perfect 10 on beam this season, making her one of only four GymDawgs to ever earn multiple perfect scores. She also won the individual title in the all around for the seventh time this season out of eight total competitions. The all around maverick has earned a total of 14 individual titles so far this season.
Kristyn Hoffa continued her dominant stretch on floor, earning her sixth consecutive 9.900 or higher. She took home a 9.925 and finished second-overall in the meet.
Brenna Brooks found success in all three events she competed in, earning a career-high 9.875 on both bars and beam, while matching her career-high on floor with a 9.850.
