GymDawgs to Host Seattle Pacific During Senior Day Celebrations
March 11, 2020 | Gymnastics
SEATTLE - Washington will host Seattle Pacific University on Saturday in the final meet of the regular season. The GymDawgs will celebrate their senior class as this marks the final home action this season as well.
Washington will look to continue a dominant stretch on floor against SPU as they hope to keep the momentum heading into the post season. Following the weekend of meets at Oregon State and at Denver where the GymDawgs scored a season-high 49.600, Washington moved into a tie for fourth in the NCAA rankings on floor.
Kristyn Hoffa has recorded a score of 9.900 or higher in eight straight meets, including two event wins and two scores of 9.950 over the weekend. The fifth-year senior currently sits in fourth place in the country on floor with a national qualifying score of 9.940 and a season average of 9.905.
The GymDawgs will look to bounce back on beam after a difficult meet at Denver. In the last meet in Alaska Airlines Arena against Utah, the GymDawgsΒ earned a program record 49.650 behind Evanni Roberson's second perfect 10 on beam of the season.
The meet will be closed to the public,Β with the University of Washington athletic department enacting a crowd limiting policy due to the Covid-19 situation. Attendance at all home athletic events will be restricted to competing student-athletes, coaches and essential working personnel only, which includes credentialed media members, until further notice. In addition, student-athletes' families & recruits will be permitted to attend home events. more on the situation, refund policies, and future events can be found atΒ https://gohski.es/2TFPssY
