Huskies Have Six-Game Win Streak Snapped By UC Irvine

SEATTLE – The University of Washington baseball team (6-3) had its six-game win streak snapped Saturday, dropping a 9-0 decision to UC Irvine (5-5) at Husky Ballpark.
The visiting Anteaters didn't waste any time getting on the board, plating three runs in the first. After scoring twice in the fifth and once in the sixth, UCI pushed across three more in the eighth.
Junior right-hander Jack Enger (1-1) got the nod on the hill and worked the first 5.0 innings. He struck out five, while giving up three earned runs on four hits. Karl Koerper tossed a scoreless ninth, fanning two, in his first appearance of the year.
Ramon Bramasco led the offensive efforts for the Huskies, going 2-for-3. Braiden Ward doubled in the third and Noah Hsue and Rollie Nichols also posted base knocks.
The Huskies and Anteaters will meet in the rubber match Sunday with first pitch slated for 1:05 p.m.
