Final Pac-12 Road Trip Coming Up For Huskies
April 29, 2019 | Softball
SEATTLE - The Washington Huskies will head to the desert for a top-five matchup, facing off with the Arizona Wildcats in the final road trip of the season for Washington. The Huskies will play three games against the Wildcats before returning home for the last weekend of the regular season.
The Huskies will be looking to record their 15th Pac-12 win this weekend. It would be the fourth consecutive season that Washington has won 15 or more games in the Pac-12. That is the second-longest such streak in Husky history and the longest during Heather Tarr's tenure.
Washington is looking to expand on its winning streak over Arizona. Last season, Washington swept the Wildcats in Seattle. Since 2011, the Huskies and Wildcats have played to a draw, with each team winning 12 games.

MORGANNE CANNE RAKE | |
Morganne Flores became just the second Husky ever to hit double-digit homers in Pac-12 play, joining Kristen Rivera in that regard. With one more Pac-12 home run this year, Flores would stand alone with the most in Husky history in a single season against Pac-12 opponents. Her 17 overall home runs are tied for the ninth-most in a single season by a Husky. Flores has a chance to become just the fourth Husky (and fifth season) with 20+ homers in a single season. |

COLLEGIATE PLAYER OF THE YEAR | |
For the second year in a row, the Huskies had two players named to the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year watch list, with Sis Bates and Gabbie Plain each earning their way onto the list of 25 finalists that the winner will be chosen from. Only five other teams have multiple players on the watch list, and only Arizona, with three, have more than Washington. This is Bates' second year in a row being a finalist for the award, while Plain joins Taran Alvelo, a 2018 finalist, in Washington's pitching staff as honorees. |

EXTRA BASE EXHIBITION | |
Since doubling against UCLA on March 15, Amirah Milloy has 15 extra-base hits in 21 games. Milloy had zero extra-base hits through her first 19 games this year: she has slugged .837, with 18 of her 21 RBI. Milloy needs one RBI to match her career total entering this season and four hits to match that total. She has already set career highs in every offensive category, including going a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen bases. |

SILENT RAIN, LOUD BAT | |
SilentRain Espinoza is currently on a career-best five-game hitting streak, scoring six runs and driving in eight in that time. She has both of her extra-base hits in that time. Espinoza's .377 batting average this year is the highest by a Husky freshman since Trysten Melhart's .379 mark in 2015. |
