Huskies Finish Strong At Western Intercollegiate

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The Washington men's golf team finished in 10th place after shooting a 1-under round of 349 in the final round of the Western Intercollegiate on Wednesday. The 1-under round was 18 strokes better than the second round score for UW. The Huskies finished at 36-over for the tournament.
"Great round from the guys today," said head coach Alan Murray. "Noah finished really strong and put up a great 4-under. Jan with another great tournament and another under par round was big for him and for us. Ranveer played well again and had a lot of birdies. Shamu and Henry both bounced back after tough days in round two and I'm proud of their efforts."
Sophomore Jan Schneider finished in 11th place at 1-under par after shooting a second consecutive 1-under round of 69 on Wednesday. Schneider earned his third top-20 finish of the season.
Sophomore Noah Woolsey shot the low round of tournament for the Huskies as he posted a 4-under round of 66 to finish in a tie for 33rd place at 5-over par. Woolsey had a near flawless round with three birdies, an eagle on the par-5 9th hole and only one bogey.
Freshman Ranveer Grewal finished tied for 33rd place at +5 after shooting a 1-under round of 69. Grewal rolled in six birdie putts in his final round at Pasatiempo Golf Club. The -1 third round was Grewal's second straight day shooting under par as he posted a 2-under 68 on Tuesday.
Junior Shamu Bodhidatta shot a 2-over round of 72 to finish at 15-over and in a tie for 69th place. Bodhidatta's third round 72 was his best round of the tournament.
Senior William Mansfield finish in 73rd place after he shot a 4-over round of 74 on Wednesday.
Junior Henry Lee bounced back after a tough second round to shoot a 3-over round of 73. Lee finished the tournament tied for 79th place.
Stanford won the Western Intercollegiate at 10-under par, six shots clear of second place Cal.
