
Washington Climbs Leaderboard In Second Round of Pac-12 Championships

PALOS VERDES, Calif. – The Washington women's golf team moved up two spots on the leaderboard after an 8-over round of 292 on Tuesday, ten strokes better than the opening round of play. The Huskies are in sixth place at +26 for the tournament.
"We had a little better day today in conditions that were slightly more difficult than yesterday," said had coach Mary Lou Mulflur. "They grinded out the round even if we weren't hitting it our best. We're definitely getting more dialed in."
Junior Alice Duan posted the low round on the day for the team, shooting an even par round of 71. Duan is tied for 15th place at 5-over par for the tournament. Duan carded four birdies in her second round of action. Duan climbed up sixteen spots on the leaderboard in her second round.
Senior Julianne Alvarez is also in a tie for 15th place at 5-over par after shooting a 4-over round of 75 on Tuesday.
Sophomore Rino Sasaki bounced back after a tough first round to card a 1-over 72 and she sits in a tie for 21st place at +7.
Senior Sarah Rhee is tied for 31st place after two rounds of play at 9-over par. Rhee shot a 3-over round of 74 at Palos Verdes Golf Club in her second round of play.
Senior Wenyung Keh posted a 4-over round of 75 to put her at 10-over for the championship and tied for 35th place.
USC continues to lead the tournament at 1-under par and holds an 11 stroke lead over second place Stanford. Albane Valenzuela of Stanford is the individual leader at -7.
UW will tee off the final round of play on Wednesday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. playing with UCLA.
