
Washington Finishes Fifth At Pac-12 Championships

PALOS VERDES, Calif. – The Washington women's golf team finished fifth at the Pac-12 Championships on Wednesday after shooting a 1-under round of 283 at Palos Verdes Golf Club. The Huskies shot their lowest round of the tournament in the third round of play and finished at 25-over par for the championship.
Senior Julianne Alvarez posted a 1-under round of 70 in the third round of play to finish tied for 8th place at 4-over par. Alvarez carded two birdies and only one bogey in the third round. Alvarez's finish was her seventh top-20 in 10 starts this season, and also her third top-10.
Junior Alice Duan shot an even par round of 70 to finish at 5-over par and in a tie for 13th place. Duan's top-20 finish was her fourth of the year. Duan rolled in nine birdies over her three rounds of play.
Sophomore Rino Sasaki shot a 1-under round of 70 with four birdies on her round to earn a tie for 16th place at +6. Sasaki earned her second consecutive top-20 finish of the year and her third of the year.
Senior Wenyung Keh tied for 26th place after shooting a 1-over par round of 72 on Wednesday. Keh finished the tournament at 11-over par.
Senior Sarah Rhee ended her tournament at +12 and in a tie for 30th place after shooting a 3-over round of 74 in her third round of play.
The Huskies third round score of 283 was the third lowest team score posted on Wednesday. UW lead the field in total pars recorded for the tournament with 180.
USC won the tournament at 1-over par, nine strokes ahead of second place Arizona.
Next for the Huskies will be the NCAA Regionals, May 6-8. The regional selections will take place on April 24.
