Last Home Weekend For GymDawgs Next
March 05, 2019 | Gymnastics
SEATTLE - The Washington GymDawgs finish their home season with two meets this weekend, hosting Sacramento State and Iowa on March 8 during International Women's Day, then facing off with Southern Utah in a dual meet on Senior and Alumni Day on March 10. This is the one and only two-meet weekend for the Dawgs all this season. Tickets are available online.
Washington enters this weekend fresh off a season-best performance at Boise State, where they earned a 196.750. Washington has improved its team score for five consecutive weeks now and is looking to record its first 197 of the season. The GymDawgs competed against both Sacramento State and Southern Utah last season, starting 2018 at Sacramento State and recording one of their four 197s at Southern Utah later in the season.

VAULT | |
| Washington's three highest team vault scores have come in the last two weeks, peaking last week with a 49.300. That was the highest vault score from the GymDawgs since 2017. Geneva Thompson has never had a vault score under 9.800 in her young career and set a new career high against Boise State and Utah State with her first-ever 9.900 on any event. Thompson has three vault event titles already. Madison Copiak also has a vault title this year, splitting the title with Thompson at Arizona. Kristyn Hoffa, who has only competed on vault the last four weeks, has improved every week and matched her career high with a 9.850 last week. |

Madison Copiak led the way with a career-best 9.925, while Evanni Roberson and Geneva Thompson each had career highs with 9.900s. That made it three weeks in a row that Thompson has gone over 9.800 on bars. Copiak now has three scores of 9.900 or higher on bars this year, the most of any GymDawg. |
