
Dawgs Finish Fifth At The Goodwin

STANFORD, Calif. – The Washington men's golf team finished fifth at 17-over par at The Goodwin on Saturday. The Dawgs shot 8-over in the third round and beat 21 out of the 26 teams in the field.
"Overall it was a really good performance by the team in a strong tournament," said head coach Alan Murray. "This was our best performance so far this year and I think we can take a lot of heart from it moving forward."
Junior Henry Lee finished the tournament tied for 14th place at 3-over par. Lee carded an even par round of 70 in his final round. Lee earned his fifth top-20 finish of the season. Lee rolled in ten birdie putts over his three rounds.
Freshman Jan Schneider earned his best finish of the season in a tie for 14th place after he finished the tournament at 3-over par. Schneider shot a 3-over par round of 73 and played the final nine holes at 1-under par.
Sophomore Paul Margolis carded a 6-over round of 76 on Saturday and finished in a tie for 40th place.
Sophomore Noah Woolsey earned a tie for 45th place at 8-over par after shooting a 3-over round of 73 in his third round of play.
Senior William Mansfield shot a 2-over round of 72 highlighted by an eagle three on the par-5 first hole. Mansfield finished the tournament tied for 115th place.
Stanford won the tournament at 8-under par, 18 shots clear of second place USC. Brandon Wu won the individual title at 4-under in a playoff.
The Huskies will next be in action at the Aggie Invitational in Bryan, Texas April 6-7.
