April 06, 2019 | Men's Golf
BRYAN, Texas – The Washington men's golf team sits in sixth place as play was suspended before completion of the first round at the Aggie Invitational. The Huskies made it through 14 holes, shooting 3-over par.
The first two rounds of play were scheduled to be played on Saturday, however inclement weather in the area caused delays. The tournament has been cut to 36 holes, with play beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
"It was a crazy day, where we were on the course all day and only played 14-17 holes," said head coach Alan Murray. "We will get some rest and mentally prepare to get back out there and score as low as we can."
Sophomore Noah Woolsey lead the way for the Huskies as he was 4-under through 14 holes and tied for second place. Woolsey has recorded six birdies so far in his first round.
Sophomore Jan Schneider is tied for 24th place at 1-over par, midway through his round. Schneider also played 14 holes on the day.
Freshman Padraic Sim is 2-over through 16 holes, as he has rolled in two birdies in his first round thus far.
Junior Henry Lee is tied for 42nd after his opening round at 4-over par. Junior Shamu Bodhidatta sits at 6-over par after 15 holes and is tied for 62nd place.
Oklahoma State leads the tournament at 9-under par and Matthew Wolff of Oklahoma State leads the individuals at 5-under par.
