Three Career Highs At Pac-12 Championships

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – The Washington GymDawgs took second in their session at the Pac-12 Championships, with three GymDawgs setting career highs. Amara Cunningham, Geneva Thompson, and Maya Washington all set career highs back-to-back-to-back on floor, all earning scores of 9.900 or higher to help push Washington forward.

Thompson's 9.900 on floor gave her a score of 9.900 or better on every event she has competed on this year. For Washington, her 9.950 broke her career high of 9.925, set just two meets ago. Her 9.950 was also the highest floor score by a GymDawg since Hailey Burleson also reached that mark in 2017.

"There were certainly some amazing moments to be proud of, but overall we fell short of what we set out to do," said Elise Ray-Statz. "The season is far from over though and this team has continually demonstrated heart and resilience. We'll get back to work and train the way we want to show up for Regionals."

		VAULT
Kristyn Hoffa had a 9.800, her fifth score of 9.800 or higher in the last six meets. Thompson had a 9.825 to make it 12 straight meets of 9.800 or better.

		BARS
Michaela Nelson started the rotation with a 9.800. Washington had a 9.825 on bars. Monica Riley had a 9.850, her seventh time reaching that mark in the last eight meets. Madison Copiak earned her sixth 9.900 or better on bars with a 9.900. Thompson had a 9.800.

		BEAM
Brenna Brooks earned a 9.825. Washington's 9.850 made it seven times in the last eight meets she has reached at least 9.800. Nelson earned another 9.800 on beam. Malory Rose had a 9.850.

		FLOOR
Cunningham's 9.900 was her first score of 9.900 on any event in her young career. Thompson earned a 9.900 for a new career high. Washington's 9.950 was a career high.
