SEATTLE - The #5 Washington Huskies return to southern California again this week to take part in the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, California. Washington has allowed only 13 extra-base hits so far this year, the fewest in the Pac-12, and will look to continue their strong defensive play and pitching this weekend as they play two of the nation's top-20 scoring offenses. Missouri is the only one of Washington's last four opponents to score more than one run. Stanford is the only other Pac-12 school to have three qualified pitchers with ERAs under 1.50, with Taran Alvelo, Gabbie Plain, and Pat Moore all coming in under that mark.
Offensively, the Huskies are hitting .309 as a team, good for third in the conference. Six qualified Huskies are hitting over .333, led by Taryn Atlee's .468 average through 15 games.

ย WALKS? WHAT'S THAT? | |
| Gabbie Plain finished the Mary Nutter Classic with a 28:0 K:BB ratio. She has not allowed a walk in her last 21.0 IP, striking out 35 in that time and allowing only three runs. That includes a career-best 14-strikeout, one-hit game against Fullerton, making her the seventh Husky ever to strikeout 14+. | ||

ย SECOND BASE IS FOR DOUBLES | |
| Atlee had four doubles last week, including her first-ever two-double game, against Fullerton. The junior also had a career-best four hits in that game, the second Husky (along with Sami Reynolds) with a four-hit game this season. Atlee had fives doubles in 2018: she has four in her last four games this season. | ||

ย SPEEDY SAMI | |
| Sami Reynolds had her second two-steal game to end the Mary Nutter Classic, improving to 6-for-6 on the basepaths this year. That is the best start on the basepaths by a Husky freshman since Kelly Burdick went 9-for-9 in 2015. The last Husky with more steals in the season's first 15 games was Trysten Melhart, who went 7-for-7 to start 2017. | ||

ย COMPLETE GAME QUEEN | |
| Taran Alvelo earned her 70th career complete game last week, joining Brittany Hitchcock of Hawai'i and Brianna Jones of Southern Illinois as the only active pitchers in the nation with 70+ complete games. With 652 strikeouts, Alvelo has over 100 more career strikeouts than either of those pitchers. In Washington history, only Danielle Lawrie, Stephanie Burns, Tia Bollinger, Jennifer Spediacci, and Ashley Boek have more complete games. | ||
