PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico – The #5 Washington Huskies wrapped up the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge with a 5-3 win over the North Dakota State Bison. Kaija Gibson continued her hot day, going 3-for-3 with an RBI for her first career three-hit game. Sis Bates, Rachel Ogasawara, and Nawai Kaupe all drove in runs as well.

Pat Moore worked 4.1 innings for the Huskies before ceding the circle to Gabbie Plain. Plain would not allow a hit or walk in her 2.2 innings of work, striking out three while allowing just one batter to reach base, via error.

		SCORING
First Inning: Washington's offense leaped out of the game, scoring three runs in the first inning. Gibson single into left to bring the game's first run in, then Kaupe double into rightfield to bring in two more runs. First Inning: North Dakota State answered with two runs, scoring on a single to center and on a passed ball. Fifth Inning: The Bison scrapped together a run to tie the game, scoring on an error to make it 3-3. Sixth Inning: After NDSU tied it, Washington bounced back immediately. Amirah Milloy and Bates singled back-to-back, allowing Livy Schiele to come around and score the go-ahead run. Seventh Inning: Ogasawara added an insurance run for the Huskies with a single to right, bringing Sami Reynolds home for the final 5-3 margin.

		NOTES
Gibson (3x3, RBI) had her second game of the day with multiple hits. Washington was caught stealing for the first time tonight, ending a perfect 12-for-12 start to the year on the basepaths. Kaupe's (1x4, 2B, 2 RBI) double was her first extra-base hit of the year. Ogasawara (1x1, RBI) made her season debut behind the dish.

The Huskies head to the Mary Nutter Classic next, beginning on Friday, February 22 with games against Cal Poly and Kentucky.
