Washington Loses At Wisconsin 5-2

MADISON, Wisc. --- The Washington men's tennis team dropped their match against Wisconsin 5-2 on Sunday morning at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The Husky record now stands at 2-5 on the season.
The Badgers earned the doubles point by winning matches on Courts 1 and 3 to begin the day.
The freshman duo of Ewen Lumsden and Ernesto Turegano fell to Robert Krill and Chase Colton 2-6 for the first Badger doubles victory.
Osgar O'Hoisin and Jared Pratt defeated sophomore Jack Davis and senior Piers Foley 6-4 to clinch the doubles point for Wisconsin.
Seniors Kawika Lam and Enzo Sommer were down 4-5 to Lenard Soha and Jesper Freimuth at the time of the doubles point being decided.
The first singles match to be decided was on Court 2 as Davis fell to Freimuth 2-6, 1-6, to give Wisconsin a 2-0 lead.
Foley got the first Husky point on the board as he beat Colton 6-3, 6-2.
The Badgers took a 3-1 lead as Krill defeated senior Sebastian Hawken 6-3, 6-4.
The match was clinched on Court 1 as Sommer lost to O'Hoisin 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, giving Wisconsin their fourth point of the match.
Turegano earned the second point of the match for Washington as he came from a one set deficit to beat Soha 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Wisconsin earned their fifth point of the match as Pratt took down Lumsden 7-6, 2-6, 6-4.
The Huskies will next be in action at home on Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. as they face San Diego State.
