Washington Again Strong in Day Two of Husky Invite

SEATTLE --- Washington continued its solid showing at the Husky Invitational, winning a number of matches throughout the day Saturday at the Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle.
In singles play, Washington seven singles victories on the day. Brandon Wong and Thibault Cancel opened the day with straight-set wins over Eastern Washington players while Adam Torocsik pulled out a three-set victory over UC Davis' Brett Brinkman 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (3). Ewen Lumsden, Jack Davis, and Stevie Gould also picked up quick wins while Kailuhia Lam recorded a hard-fought three-set win.
On the doubles side, the Huskies won six matches. Davis and Lumnsden eached a pair of wins, beating a team from UC Davis 8-7 (2) and another from Eastern Washington, 8-2. Alexis Alvarez won two matches with different partners, teaming with Jack Pulliam for an 8-3 win vs Eastern Washington before pairing with Kailuhia Lam for an 8-4 win over Portland State.
Washington closes out the three-day event on Sunday.
