November 14, 2019 | Women's Basketball
SEATTLE --- Washington women's basketball coach Jody Wynn announced the addition of three talented high school players on Thursday with Jayda Noble, Tameiya Sadler, and Alexis Whitfield signing National Letters of Intent to join the program in 2020-21.
"All three young ladies are high-character, over-achieving people that care just as much about their team and others around them as they do themselves," said Wynn. "They have tremendous work ethic and are committed to bringing UW back to the top of the Pac-12. Their athleticism and ability to defend full court and play up-tempo will fit in perfectly with our style of play. We struck gold with these women!"
Jayda Noble
5-11 • Guard
Colbert, Wash. // Mount Spokane High School
Noble, a local product from just outside of Spokane, is a four-star recruit who is the 27th ranked guard in the 2020 class according to Prospects Nation and 29th according to ESPN recruiting. She is a 5-11 guard who is set to begin her second year at Mount Spokane High School after spending her first two years of high school at Medical Lake HS.
As a junior, Noble helped lead Mount Spokane to the WIAA 3A State Championship game, averaging a double-double including pulling down 22 boards in a conference game. In addition to her high school success, Noble was named an Adidas All-American in 2018, helped guide her club team to a second-place finish at the 2019 Adidas National Tournament and represented the US at the Adidas Tournament in Valencia, Spain in 2019. She currently plays club basketball with the Northwest Blazers in the Adidas Gauntlet series under Head Coach Steve Klees.
Noble is the sister of UConn and Chicago Sky star Gabby Williams and Kayla Williams who played basketball at Nevada.
"Jayda has fantastic character, is selfless, a terrific teammate and one of the very best athletes in the country," said Wynn. "She can defend all over the court and is relentless on the glass.
