STANFORD, California – The Washington Huskies saw their four-game winning streak come to a close, losing to the #2 Stanford Cardinal 4-0. The Huskies perfect start to Pac-12 play came to an end too, with Washington now standing at 2-1-0 in the conference, behind only Stanford in the standings.

Kennedy Smith had Washington's two most dangerous chances in the first half. After Jessica Udovich hustled forward to intercept a pass above the box, Smith fed a ball forward to herself, then fired a laser that was caught. Smith also had a header off the corner that was pushed along and forced a clearance for another corner.

The Huskies also had some offensive pressure early in the second half, earning two straight corners, only for the play to be called dead right before a dangerous shot from Jessika Cowart due to a foul.

Summer Yates fired from distance during the second half as well but had it saved away. MaKayla Woods sent in a cross in the 76^th minute that found a dangerous crowd of bodies, with Cowart pushing a shot along wide as the defenders closed.

		SCORING
7:56 \| Siena Ruelas made a great initial save on a deep shot from Stanford, but the rebound unfortunately bounced straight back to the attacker's foot, who scored. 8:27 \| A penalty against Washington in the box gave Stanford a PK, which they converted for a 2-0 lead. 44:40 \| Another penalty, this time for an unlucky handball, gave Stanford a 3-0 lead as they score on another penalty kick. 46:22 \| The rebound cost the Huskies again, with a blocked shot falling right back to the shooter to increase Stanford's lead.

		NOTES
Smith has at least one shot on goal in four of the last five games. Six of her eight shots this year have gone on goal. Cowart has four shots in the last four games after recording three in the first seven games.
