Davis Falls in Three-Sets in Round of 16 at ITA NW Regionals

PALO ALTO, Calif. --- Washington junior Jack Davis put together an impressive performance against the tournament's top seed, but was unable to pull of the upset, falling 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 in the Round of 16 at the 2019 ITA Northwest Regionals on Sunday.

Davis picked up three dominant wins to move to the Round of 16, and forced the top seed Yuta kikuchi to a third set before bowing out in the tournament.

In other consolation matches, Kailuhia Lam picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win over Wout Doumen from Eastern Washington; Adam Torocsik beat Mauel Balce of Eastern Washington 6-2, 6-4; Kasper Smith defeated Karlo Divkovic from Saint Mary's 6-3, 6-2; Stevie Gould downed Semen Pankin of Portland 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7); and Thibault Cancel beat Michael Vizcarra from Sacramento State 6-1, 6-4.

Washington wraps up its spring schedule Nov. 8-10, hosting the Pacific Northwest Invitational at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
