First Pac-12 Meet Set As GymDawgs Go To Arizona
January 14, 2019 | Gymnastics
SEATTLE - With one meet in the books, the Washington GymDawgs will start Pac-12 competition this week, heading to Tucson to take on the Arizona Wildcats. This will be the first of five Pac-12 meets for the GymDawgs this year, including the next four meets in a row. The GymDawgs have won two of their last three Pac-12 openers.
Washington and Arizona last competed in 2017 in Seattle. At that meet, the GymDawgs put up a score of 197.175, the team's highest score of that season. Washington has not competed in Tucson since 2016.
Last week, the GymDawgs took on top-ten opponent Nebraska on the road in their season debut. Three GymDawgs made their competitive collegiate debuts, as Geneva Thompson, Brenna Brooks, and Amara Cunningham all worked their way into Washington's lineups. Evanni Roberson and Monica Riley competed on all-around for the GymDawgs. That marked the first time in Riley's career she has competed on all-around.
