Jeff Brigham To Make MLB Debut
September 02, 2018 | Baseball
Jeff Brigham, a fourth-round MLB Draft pick out of Washington in 2014, has been called up by the Miami Marlins and will make his big-league debut on Sunday.
Β
The right-handed pitcher out of Federal Way's Thomas Jefferson High School was in the midst of an outstanding season at the minor-league level for three different Marlins' affiliates. Brigham was a combined 10-3 with a 2.36 ERA in 17 starts at the Triple-A and Double-A levels, plus a single game at the Rookie level during a rehab start.
Β
Brigham is the third former Washington pitcher to make his MLB debut in 2018, joining Adam Cimber and Austin Voth, and he will be the fifth Husky to play in the big leagues this season (also Jake Lamb and Andrew Kittredge).
