SEATTLE – The battle of the UWs went against Washington tonight, with the Huskies falling to the Wisconsin Badgers 2-1 in overtime. Summer Yates scored a first-half goal for Washington, which is now 2-2-0 on the season. Siena Ruelas made four saves for the Huskies.

In all, the Huskies managed 16 shots, with five different players registering multiple shots, but were unable to find a second goal. Yates led the way with four shots, while Jessika Cowart, Pascale Dumesnil, Sianna Siemonsma, and Laura Roberts all had two.

"We can't go passive, and that cost us today," said head coach Lesle Gallimore. "We were in enough to create more chances: we didn't really get great chances on frame. We'll learn and get better, we played a lot of great soccer tonight."

		SCORING
10:23 \| Lisa Jensen started the attack with a looped pass to Olivia Van der Jagt, who was alone near the left corner of the box. Van der Jagt drew the defense and found Yates with a cross. The freshman was able to play it down in traffic and fire into the left corner past a diving keeper for the lead. 21:46 \| The Husky defense stood tall, blocking one shot and saving another, but Wisconsin managed to tie the game off a rebound. Ruelas leapt to her right to knock away the first shot, but it unfortunately bounced straight to a Badger foot, making it 1-1. 94:34 \| A curving cross by the Badgers was tipped along by an outstretched foot, putting it just out of reach of Ruelas and the Husky defenders to end the game.

		NOTES
Van der Jagt has recorded at least one point in three consecutive games. Tonight was the first career start for Asia Brisco and Roberts. Playing defensive midfield and central defense, Cowart has still managed three shots in her last two games. The loss snaps a streak of seven consecutive wins at the Husky Nike Invitational for UW.
