
Desert Road Trip Coming Up for the Dawgs

SEATTLE – Fresh off of two Pac-12 wins, No. 50 Washington women's tennis travels to the desert for matches at Arizona and No. 39 Arizona State, the last two regular-season road matches.
The Huskies (12-8, 2-3 Pac-12) are playing their best tennis right now, winning their last two matches in 4-0 sweeps. In the two home matches against Colorado and Utah, UW lost just one set in singles. In the latest ITA rankings, Stacey Fung is now No. 21 and Vanessa Wong is at No. 58. In doubles, Wong and Miki Kobayashi moved up to No. 24.
Arizona is the first stop on the road trip. The Wildcats are 9-10 on the year, 0-5 in Pac-12 play. They have lost five of the last six matches, including the last two at home.
Arizona State is 11-5 in 2018, 3-2 in conference matches. Over the weekend, the Sun Devils split their matches, being swept by Stanford and sweeping California. They have three singles players in the rankings, No. 42 Lauryn John-Baptiste, No. 122 Kelley Anderson and No. 123 Savannah Slaysman. There are also three doubles pairs ranked at No. 35, No. 45 and No. 71.
