GymDawgs Take Fourth At Pac-12 Championships
March 25, 2018 | Gymnastics
TUCSON, Ariz. – The #8 Washington GymDawgs took fourth place at the Pac-12 Championships Saturday, finishing with a team score of 196.750. Joslyn Goings tied her career high on vault with her score of 9.900, good for a third-place finish, and also had Washington's highest score on beam at 9.875.
"The team handled themselves beautifully with the Pac-12 format, which is challenging," said head coach Elise Ray-Statz. "We weren't as sharp as we had hoped; we gave up too many tenths in details. I could not be more proud of the way this team handled the regular season. UW's highest finish ever is something to be proud of. It is a testament to their dedication and hard work from day one."
Hailey Burleson took sixth place in the conference in all-around, finishing with a score of 39.425. Burleson finished with a score over 9.800 on all four events, including scores of 9.875 on both vault and beam.
Monica Riley also took home a top-ten finish with her score of 9.875 on bars. Riley earned seventh place with that score, one of Washington's five top-ten finishes on the night.
