
Dawgs Face Saint Mary's in Round Two of NIT

#5 UW (21-12, 10-8 Pac-12) vs. #1 Saint Mary's (29-5, 16-2 WCC)
UW earned a No. 5 seed in the 2018 National Invitational Tournament and have advanced to the second round heading to California to face Saint Mary's on Monday, March 19 at 8 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPNU with Roxy Bernstein and Corey Williams on the call. Additionally, fans can tune into KOMO 1000AM/FM 97.7 to hear the action from Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton. Washington leads the series history at 6-0 with their most recent meeting coming over 18 years ago on the road on Nov. 22 1999 (73-60).
The Coach
Head Coach Mike Hopkins is in his first year at Washington, and first as a head coach becoming the 19th head coach in UW history. After spending 22 years as an assistant at Syracuse, Hopkins oversaw teams that reached the NCAA Tournament 16 times including the 2003 National Championship, four Final Fours, five Elite Eights and 10 Sweet 16s along with four NIT berths. Syracuse never dipped below a 55.0 percent record while Hopkins was on staff.
